DiDi Freight and Dada Express are set to try something new in local freight transport.

Dada Nexus is a local on-demand retail and delivery platform. The Company operates JD-Daojia, one of the country’s main local retail platforms, and Dada Express, a local delivery platform. Its business covers more than 2,700 counties and districts out of a total of 2,851 county-level divisions.

Didi Freight specializes in local freight as part of DiDi Global.

A new “freight” function has been added to the Dada Express mini-program in Beijing. When Jiemian News tried it out that we were offered local freight services with various vehicle types, from small vans to flatbed trucks. The bottom of the page reads, “Handled by Dada Express. Dada Express trusts DiDi Freight drivers for transportation.”

A DiDi Freight insider said: “Beijing, Hangzhou, and Hefei will be the first cities for testing, then the model will be carried forward in 21 cities nationwide.”

The latest numbers from Dada show total revenue of 9.4 billion yuan (US$ 1.3 billion) in 2022, up 36 percent, with over 1 million active riders and partnerships with Walmart, Sam’s Club and Yonghui Superstores.
