吾心即禅，自在悠然，是陈豆豆现在的生活状态。她的职业是佛像创作者，凭着一颗禅心，沉迷于创作佛像，精雕细琢、反复修正，将一颗禅心淬炼成一个个活灵活现的佛像。

Peaceful and carefree, zen is just in the heart. This is the state of Chen Doudou, whose job is creating statues of Buddha. She is so addicted to working on it with a meditative mind so that to present a lively and spiritual Buddha statue.

以前，陈豆豆从事时尚行业，那时，她的生活被快节奏的工作所占据，不断地接受新鲜事物和没日没夜的加班让她身心疲惫，一颗浮躁的心无法沉淀下来。而初次接触佛像制作的陈豆豆，发现生活节奏在不知不觉中放慢时，她也喜欢上了这份工作。

Chen Doudou used to be in the fashion community. At that time, her life was driving on the fast lanes which was totally buried in the trivial things. He was exhausted, unable to settle down. However, when he started creating the Buddha statues, life has been getting peacefel which made her fond of this job.

一件佛像的创作时间不等，快则一月，慢则数月。而专心制作佛像的她，是安静的，一门心思都在如何创作佛像上面，心无旁骛地感受着这份静谧，身心放松。

It’s hard to control the time of a work. One month or several months are the same for her, because she is always in the state of focusing, in the state of peaceful and satisfying when creating the statues.

陈豆豆创作的佛像和传统佛像不同，少了些许庄严，多了一些亲和力和灵动性。小时候奶奶拜佛像的场景让她记忆深刻，每天在佛像前祈祷是奶奶的必备功课。每次回忆旧时的场景，总有一股暖流涌入心中。

Her works differ from all the others’ which are not that traditional and solemn but full of flexibility and affinity. In her early age, it’s quite memorable when her grandmother praying in front of the Buddha, which gives her a stream of warmth every time when thinking of it.

一座佛像的创作需要手艺人极致的静心和耐心。最重要的环节是塑性，光是刻刀工具就多大几十种。佛像的服饰和形态需要用刻刀细细雕刻，头部的发丝更是需要更扁平的刻刀甚至细针一点点精雕细镂。

To finish a work of Buddha statue needs extreme peace and patience for a craftsman. Plasticity is the most vital part of the process, which needs tens kinds of knives to sculp the details such as the costume, the mien, and the hairlines.

从塑造原型、胶膜涂蜡、裹沙制壳再到熔铜注塑、敲沙脱壳，一个佛像的创作过程需要手艺人的绝对专注，容不得一丝疏忽。最后一道工艺是脱胎，露出铜胚的那一刻，是陈豆豆最为欣喜的，经历了高温铜水的浇筑和等待铜胎的冷却，一个造型灵动且立体感极强的佛像就此诞生。

It needs absolute focus from the process of archetypal shape to waxing, casting to unshelling, and the last step is tinceling which will give him the most exciting moment when the copper embryo exposing, because it has been through extremely high temperature of copper water and cooled down, and finally there comes the stereo and strong Buddha Studue.

陈豆豆与佛结缘，滋养禅心，创作佛像。也许，每个人对佛的任何和理解不尽相同，但佛是一种信仰，它存乎于心，无论何时何地，何种境遇。佛光能否普照众生我不知道，但可以确定的是，每个人都有一束内心的光芒可以照亮自己，引导我们再生命的路上不断前行。

Chen Doudou is lucky enough to get attached to Buddhism and nurished by the Zen to create Buddha statues. Perhaps different people have different understandings about the Buddha, but what in common is that it’s a belief in spirit. No matter when and where there is a beam of light shooting oneself, leading one’s way forward.
