《金刚经》云:“凡所有相,皆是虚妄,若见诸相非相,即见如来。”这是佛所说,佛所悟,佛所语。“诸相非相”是空相,但空相不是不作不为,而是不受其扰。我们不是佛,应先学习,再体验,再贯彻,再自然而然。
The Diamond Sutra says "Each and every form is illusive. If it is comprehended that forms are not forms in themselves, then Tathagata is witnessed." this is what the Buddha says, what the Buddha enlightened, and what the Buddha spread. “Each and every form is illusive” doesn’t mean doing nothing, but not to be disturbed by anything. We are not the Tathagata, so we need to learn first, then to experience, then to implement, and finally to make it to be natural.
“境由心生自由自在”
“The notion was born through the heart to be free”
万法由心,境由心造,有什么样的心态,便会有什么样的世界。毕业于中国美术学院书法篆刻专业的李建出于对佛教的浓厚兴趣,篆刻《金刚经》全文,打开了他的朝圣之门。
All rules follow the hearts, all notions are born from the minds. Different thoughts spawn different worlds. Li Jian, who graduated from The China Academy of Art whose major is Calligraphy and Seal Carving. Due to the strong interests on the Buddhism, he finished the whole text of the Diamond Sutra, which opening the door of pilgrim.
“过去心不可得,现在心不可得,未来心不可得。”
“The minds of the past are intangible, the minds of the present are intangible, the minds of the future are intangible.”
篆刻《金刚经》是李建的毕业作品,他选用秦汉风格,追根溯源,是想取一份古意,留一份禅意。《金刚经》全文5176字,石材以寿石山为主,一句经文一方印,总共1012方印。在此之前,从未有单人完成过这样的篆刻。
Carving the Diamond Sutra is his graduation work. He chose the style of qin and han dynasties, tracing back to keep a historic and Buddhist flavor. The Diamond Sutra has 5176 words in total, using the material of Shoushan stone, and there are 1012 kisses in total. Before him there had never been a single one who could complete this seal carving.
篆刻的过程非常辛苦,尤其是对一个学生来说。李建的生活费主要来自替别人篆刻作品,所获收入一部分用来吃饭,另一部分用来购买石头。李建表示:“以前我没做过这样的事情,现在我想趁着自己还年轻,认真地、虔诚地,来做这样一件事,未来怎么样,我不知道。”
The process of seal carving needs a lot of efforts, especially for a student. He supported himself mainly by carving for others, and his money was divided into two, the other one would spend on stones. He said: “I have never been doing things like this before, and now I want to holily concentrate on one thing when I am still young, and the future, I am not sure.”
“应无所住,而生其心”。
“Enlightenment comes when we do not attach to anything”.
对于篆刻来说,寻常印家制印,以印味为尊,而不问原由。每到篆刻之时,未动刀笔思绪便深陷其中。而李建在篆刻佛经时,心有所想且兼具创意,刀笔互生,所用之法兼具秦汉风格之内又游于想象之外,所用之刀偶有石材崩裂的意外,但由此也会造成意想不到的美感,像是在告诫,一切随缘。
For carving, the ordinary honor the smell of seals and never ask the reason. While Li Jian is different. Every time before he starts, the thoughts have gone deeply in it. He combines the skills with his spirits and originality. The style of qin and han dynasties do exist in his works while it never shaped his works. Sometime there are some cracks burst on the stone but they lead to unexpected beauty, which seems like warning us to let the things be what they should be.
南怀瑾读《金刚经》时曾说:“风月无古今,情怀自浅深”。这世间,亘古不变的是风花雪月,在永恒面前,我们是如此渺小。因此在这短暂的一生,我们总喜欢用一些事物来磨练自己,用艰苦的过程告诉自己成功来之不易。然而,自始至终影响你的,永远都不是外物,而是你自己。因为,成就一个人的终将是耐性和勇气。
When Nan Huaijn reading the Diamond Sutra, he said: “ the wind and moon are always staying the same, while the feelings go differently.” The world is an immutable law, and we are as tiny as a sand when standing in front of the eternal. In our short life, we always like to hone ourselves with something, and let the painstaking tell us how hard-won the success is. However, what had affected you would never be the things in the outer world, it is yourself who makes who you are, and it is the patience and courage that build you to last.
