“我要去做一个骄傲的木匠”，这是水杉在离职表上写的一句话。作为一个土生土长的杭州人，他从小就非常喜欢木艺，而他真正的木艺之路是从偶像汉斯·韦格纳开始的。

"I'm going to be a proud carpenter", Shui Shan wrote this on his resignation. As a native of Hangzhou he was fond of wooden arts from early years, and it was because of Hans Wegner that he started his road of wooden arts.

水杉告诉我们：“业界评价汉斯·韦格纳说，他把一生的时光，都奉献给了人类的屁股。”

Shui Shan told us : “Hans Wegner has devoted all his life to human's ass commented by his industry”.

汉斯·韦格纳被称为丹麦设计史上的伟大先驱，还被全球公认为最具创造力的家具设计师，他的作品被誉为永恒、不朽之作，被世界各地的博物馆所珍藏。

Hans Wegner was known as a great pioneer in the history of Danish design as well as the most creative furniture designer in the world. His works are honored to be eternal and immortal, which cherished by museums all over the world.

然而，最令水杉惊叹的，是汉斯·韦格纳设计的一把牛角椅。这把椅子借鉴了中国明清时期的家具设计风格，再融合北欧家具简约、人文等元素，椅子一问世就备受追捧，热度持续到现在，经久不散。

However, what surprised him most is a horn chair designed by Hans Wegner. This chair combined the styles of the Ming and qing dynasties with the simple and humanistic styles of North Europe, which has been highly praised since it was born.

在木工坊里，水杉做了一把他的偶像做过的牛角椅。这把椅子使用的是中国的榫卯结构，整把椅子的制作不用一根铁钉就可坚固无比。水杉从选料、开料、刨平、打榫眼等前期准备，再到后期一系列的制作工艺，每一步操作都自然且娴熟。

At the workshop of wooden arts, Shui Shan has made a horn chair that his idol made. This chair uses Chinese mortise and tenon joint structure, which is firm enough without a nail. He is extremely skillful and practiced on each step of the process.

手法娴熟的木艺匠人，行云流水地将一把椅子制作出来。常人可能体会不到其中的难度，但制作完成后，椅子本身所带来的舒适与美感兼顾，那种只可意会不可言传的文化气息，却需要设计者、制作者经年累月的磨炼，倾注心血和智慧，再通过双手，赋予木头生命的灵性与活力。水杉也正是这样，在一把牛角椅的制作中，与自己的偶像汉斯·韦格纳，甚至与古代的某位宫廷木匠，完成了精神的交流与技艺的传承。

People may not imagine how difficult it is to make a chair when seeing the craftsman making it with proficiency. However, it will bring incredible comfort and aesthetic feeling to people when completed. The unspoken breath of culture embodied in the chair needs years of efforts and wisdom of the craftsmen. And when Shui Shan makes a chair, it seems that he is communicating with his idol as well as the ancient artists, which is a great inheritance combining the skills and spirits.
